Vegetables? No. Mindful meals? Never. My days were fueled by convenience. Underneath it all, I was constantly bloated, exhausted, and disconnected from my own body. And I didn’t understand why.

The thing is, I didn’t know what nutrition really meant until I went deep into my studies in integrative nutrition. I really thought it was about eating less, eating “clean,” or saying no to dessert or anything else I actually enjoyed.

But over the years, I’ve learned this truth… Nutrition, in reality, is connection.

In a world built to disconnect us from our bodies, that kind of connection is radical. It can either heal you, or poison you.

This is why real nutrition isn’t just about food.
It’s about the state you’re in when you eat it.

Did you know your gut has its own nervous system?
It’s called the enteric nervous system, and it communicates with your brain through the vagus nerve. Studies show that over 90% of serotonin is produced in the gut, not the brain.

So if you’ve been eating in stress mode and wondering why your mood is flat, your digestion is off, or your energy crashes, this might be why.

Think about it… when you’re rushing, anxious, or in go-mode, what do you crave? What’s your go-to?

For me, it’s sugar.
And for many of us, that craving takes over. You grab whatever’s quick. You skip meals that would actually support you. You overeat in one sitting because you’ve gone too long without real fuel.

Meanwhile, your nervous system stays wired, your digestion slows down, your body can’t absorb what it needs, even if you’re eating “well”, and you start gaining weight.

It wasn’t until I started practicing mindful eating that things changed.
Not perfectly. But consistently.

Now, the amazing thing about mindful eating is that it doesn’t have to be imaginary, or woo woo, or impossible.
Instead…

It’s about knowing how to pause.
Noticing what you’re feeling while you eat.
Chewing at a pace that respects your rhythm.
Actually tasting your food again and enjoying the experience.

Most of all, it’s about eating for what your body actually needs, not what your mind has been conditioned to want.

Can you think about a time where you really enjoyed a meal?
Where were you? Were you alone? With family enjoying a home-cooked dish? At a restaurant with friends?
Do you still remember the taste? The smell? The way it made you feel when you took that first bite?
If you do remember that moment, that’s the sweet spot.
And that’s exactly what mindful eating is.

I don’t eat perfectly. I never will.
In fact, because I’ve been diagnosed with IBS and silent reflux —and I’m allergic to gluten— navigating nutrition can feel complex at times.
But eating perfectly will never be the goal.

Eating in a regulated state…
Eating to support my digestion…
Eating in a way that no longer lets food become another stressor…
That’s what matters.
That’s everything.

What health means to me on nutrition is simple:
Eat in a way that supports your nervous system.
Choose foods your body can actually absorb.
And stop punishing yourself for not being perfect.
If you’re tired of bloating, crashes, shame spirals, or never knowing what’s “right”, it’s time to rebuild your nutrition system.
One that works with your life.
One that works on your hardest days.
One that creates partnership with your body, so you feel nourished, not punished.
One that lets you reclaim energy, restore rhythm, and rebuild strength.

What does health means to you on nutrition?
Let’s start there. I’ll support you all the way.

To your thriving health,

Let me tell you something…Before 2014, I lived on fast food, soda, and anything I could eat in the car or between meetings.
