For me has been getting ready to travel to one of my favorite cities. And, while packing, I reflected on one of my past beliefs that I always needed to be \u201con.\u201d Strong, focused, and in control. And when I wasn\u2019t \u2014when I was tired, inflamed, bloated, or overwhelmed\u2014 I\u2019d push through it. Then shame myself for not being able to keep up. I even began to accept being seen as a complicated woman, as some may perceive me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But the hard truth is that sometimes the problem is not being strong, focused or in control. Sometimes, that necessity to be \u201con\u201d all the time, constantly alert, productive, or cheerful, is the voice in your head adding pressure. That voice that reminds you of every negative thought that others have said about you. And no one can feel better or recover when we\u2019re punishing our body for how it feels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s why I practice self-compassion. It isn\u2019t about being positive. It\u2019s about telling the truth to myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I pause. I name what I\u2019m feeling, without trying to fix it, without judging it, and I talk to myself the way I would talk to a friend who was struggling. That\u2019s it. No hacks. No tracking. Just 5 minutes where I\u2019m not hustling through how I feel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Self-compassion is a powerful tool. It means be kind to yourself. Because when you give your body space to feel instead of fight, it calms down. When you speak to yourself with compassion, your digestion softens, your cravings shift, and your stress lowers. When you\u2019re kind to yourself, your body starts trusting you again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a health strategy. Because stress isn\u2019t just a mindset. It\u2019s a full-body experience. And if you\u2019re trying to feel better while constantly judging yourself for not being better already, you\u2019re just layering more pressure on a system that\u2019s already maxed out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is why holistic health matters. Because it\u2019s not about performing wellness. It\u2019s about giving your body the care and space it needs to repair, so you can actually move forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s what we do in Timbiriche Vida.
