From Burnout to Breakthrough: My Journey to Holistic Health Coaching
I’m going to be honest with you, I live in constant performance mode—long hours, high stakes, and little space to breathe. I did it in school, through Law School, and in every job. As an attorney, with extensive experience in labor law and human resources, I learned how to stay composed under pressure. But beneath the surface, my body was carrying the cost, even though I didn’t realize it at the time.
I remember that, just before I opened my private practice, I vowed never to accept an environment so demanding that it left no room to live. I’m the kind of person that has always believed that work can’t push you away from living your life. But I have learned to never say never.
I first encountered coaching during my time in private practice. I considered integrating family coaching into my work. But I hesitated, excusing myself with reasons like money and timing. That hesitation lingered, reminding me how easy it is to delay what we know we need. I closed my private practice and shifted to public service.
Since my younger years to that point in my life, I was mostly sedentary, dabbling in yoga or spinning, until CrossFit entered my life in 2014. Movement lit something inside me, and for the first time, I felt the power of fitness to reconnect me with my body. I felt grounded and energized in a way that work alone had never given me.
I was happy when in the gym and in other aspects of my life, but not at work. Boredom and curiosity drive me to the concept of coaching again. This time, I decided to go for it. I wanted to know more about different ways to improve and support my health beyond exercise. I stumbled into the power of nutrition, which led me to my first health coaching certification. That’s when I realized health isn’t just about movement. It’s about creating systems that hold you steady, even when work feels unstable.
I was hooked. And even open a coaching practice, but being the high performer I am, my drive as a high achiever led me to government roles of increasing responsibility when opportunity came knocking on my door. Ironically, I ended up in the very kind of environment I had promised myself to avoid; proof that even high performers who “know better” can still get pulled back into survival mode. And all that stress that was already imprinted in my nervous system from my days at Law School started to show up again, but strongly.
Years of chronic stress began to show up in ways I couldn’t ignore: unpredictable digestion, relentless fatigue, and a body that felt wired and tired all at once. Even when I was doing everything “right,” my system was stuck in survival mode. Medical treatments became part of my routine, but I kept feeling sick and drained. Still, I kept finding myself in health coaching and pursuing other certifications that gave me practical tools to stabilize and support myself, even at the brink of burnout.
I left public service in March 2025, determined to build something meaningful. And with that I also left what I once thought was my purpose—being an attorney. I knew it was time to give coaching a third chance. This time, I wasn’t just reclaiming my life or chasing a career. I was embracing what I always knew and never fully understood—that my true purpose has been always to elevate others. To help them see their own potential, rise into their truth, and become more of who they are.
As part of that transformation, I decided to embrace the name AMarie, a combination of my full first name, Ainez Marié, and a reflection of my growth and the clarity of my purpose.

Why I Do This Work
Through my own journey, I’ve learned that stress isn’t just mental; it’s physiological. It shapes how we eat, move, rest, and recover. My body had been fighting for years, and I hadn’t been listening. But when I finally started to see stress as a signal, not an enemy, I connected the dots. And, through movement, nutrition, recovery, and nervous system regulation, I realized what had been missing all along: courage, the ability to trust my body as much as I’ve always trusted myself, and a repaired relationship with who I am.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re holding it together on the outside while your body pays the price, I know that story because I lived it. It’s why I help high performers like the one I am, because I understand the tension between ambition and wellbeing. It’s why my coaching is about more than routines or quick fixes. It’s about creating sustainable health by addressing the root causes of stress and building a framework that supports your body, your pace, and your life.
My Health Journey
My health story is deeply personal. I’ve faced digestive issues since I was a baby, struggled with gluten sensitivity, IBS, acid reflux, and chronic gastritis, and even dealt with somatic pain. These challenges taught me to listen to my body and honor its needs. I’ve experienced the joy of feeling energized and strong through intentional exercise, nutrition, and recovery, and I’ve also felt the setbacks of ignoring my body’s cues.
Now I understand that my body is no longer something I fight against. It’s something I work with. And that’s what I help others discover how to work with their bodies instead of against them.
What I Believe
I believe that health is our most powerful tool for anything we desire to do, and we take it for granted because society tells us is more about the absence of disease. Even with a disease, we have the potential to find wellbeing, and that’s key to health. It is not about perfection. but about creating strategies that hold, even when life doesn’t. It’s about learning to work with your body’s stress responses, not against them.
Stress impacts every aspect of health—disrupting sleep, digestion, and energy levels. And by working with it, not against it, high performers can unlock the ability to make nutrition, movement, and recovery work effectively, creating a foundation for sustainable success. Because this is about building a life you don’t need to recover from.
I help people return to themselves—to their clarity, their regulation, and their truth—by integrating the wisdom I earned through healing my own body, rebuilding my identity, and choosing a life that aligns with who I really am.
